How exactly does one pass the time when they know their spouse is half a world away meeting their new son at this moment? I know I am needed here, but I wish I were there...

Hang in there. The suspense is coming close to an end. Just think back about how long it even took to get to this point. May be that will help make these hours seem shorter.
I can only imagine! I'm so bad at waiting - usually I'm just able to look and the clock, pray, cry and pray - so, I guess that's what I would recommend - oh, and they say to stay busy, which I'm sure you are.
